Voices from the Coast is a celebration of the talent and creativity of the young people of Nicaragua's Southern Caribbean coast. The book consists of short stories written by children from schools in Bluefields and Pearl Lagoon and is the result of an idea which the British Embassy has been delighted to plan and sponsor in order to raise awareness of the Southern Autonomous Atlantic Region of Nicaragua, commonly known as the RAAS. I hope that Voices from the Coast will be the beginning of more than one writing career in the RAAN and that it will encourage these talented youngsters to keep creating. I also hope that all those who read and enjoy this book will be inspired to protect, promote and value the special culture of this unique part of Nicaragua.
